See Central Florida Scottish Highland Games
Each January, for more than fifteen years, the chapter has participated in Scottish Highland Games held in Winter Springs as a community outreach. It is also a fun way to introduce members of the Scottish community to DAR. America 250! The chapter is most excited to join the celebration of 250 years of America as a nation of freedom. Towards that end, various events are being planned to mark multiple historical occasions over the coming years. Our patriotism and our lineage are what unite us in patriotism. Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony On Monday, May 25, the chapter participated in the city-wide Memorial Day event at Veterans Memorial Park along the shore of Lake Monroe in Sanford. Representatives from the chapter presented their history of service to the community alongside a historical tribute marking the ramp-up to America's 250th birthday. Annual Meeting and Memorial Service: Held in May, this formal gathering recognizes the achievements of local members and committees at both the state and national levels, welcomes new members, and hosts a memorial service for deceased daughters.
