Each year, this Tea offers the opportunity to welcome new and prospective members to the chapter. The event is hosted by a chapter member and offers a friendly, educational afternoon that highlights the mission and activities of the DAR. For more information, please contact us.

Sept. 15 - Seminole County Board of County Commissioners Constitution Day Proclamation
Seminole County Board of County Commissioners will recognize and officially adopt the proclamation on September 15th. Our chapter will receive it and then publicly present it at the Constitution Day event on September 17th. Please attend the BCC meeting on September 15th to support our chapter as we receive the proclamation at 1:30 PM. Location: 1101 East 1st Street, Sanford, FL 32771 Sept. 17th - Bells Across America All members and families are invited as bells and bell towers across America to ring out together on September 17th, creating a canopy of sound over our nation. Mayor Woodruff, as tradition holds, will be reading the proclamation at the September 17th Bells Across America event at the Clocktower. Please meet at the Bell Tower Magnolia Square in Sanford at 3:30 PM. for reading the Proclamation and the ringing of the bells at 4:00 PM. Sept. 18th - Chapter Meeting The first Fall Chapter Meeting will be held at the Heathrow Country Club and guests can begin arriving at 11:30 am with lunch at 12 noon. The cost is $35.00 per person. Please RSVP via the invite sent in your email no later than 12 noon on 9/15. Please note, we have the room from 11 am to 2 pm, and the hospitality team can arrive at 11:00 am to set-up. All other guests are to arrive no earlier than 11:30 am. The program is "Forgotten Patriots: Discovering Lost Connections", and the guest speaker is Susan Holt. Sept. 19 - Ad Hoc Meeting If you cannot attend the Friday Chapter meeting. This will take place at 11:00 AM at Ace Café in Sanford. Sept. 27 - C.A.R. Kickoff Meeting Do you have kids or grandkids that might be interested in Children of the American Revolution? Need to sign your papers? Join us Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM as the West Branch Seminole County Library in Wekiva. There will be activities and light refreshments as we look ahead to a busy year! Sept. 30 - Chapter Book Club Meeting Join us from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Victorio’s Oyster Bar & Grille, 300 Dog Track Road, Longwood. Sept. 30 - Welcome Home the Villages Honor Flight This Honor Flight supports Cornerstone of Liberty Chapter, NSDAR Veterans and welcomes them home from their day in D.C. We will meet at the Orlando-Sanford International Airport from 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Orlando-Sanford International Airport, 1200 Red Cleveland Blvd., Sanford, FL 32773 Background for Bells Across America DAR, Cathedrals and churches, community organizations and historical structures, national parks and memorials, and people from coast to coast are encouraged to gather and contribute to the sound. Bells called the people of Philadelphia together to hear the Declaration of Independence read publicly for the first time on July 4, 1776. Then, again, just over 11 years later, on September 17 bells were used to call people together for the first public reading of our new Constitution. Watching our time to coordinate our bells with those ringing across our land, beginning at 4:00 Eastern Time, we ring bells – both large and small. This symbolic gesture of ringing bells together celebrates our commitment to community, honors our nation's incredible past, and inspires the next generation of American patriots. Stop by the tent to learn more about DAR, the Florida State Society of DAR, and the Sallie Harrison Chapter. Meet our members and find out whether you might have a patriot ancestor in your family tree! This is a great opportunity to learn how to become a member and connect with a local chapter.

FSSDAR FALL FORUMFall Forum Newsletter is a full weekend of workshops, celebrations, genealogy sessions, committee showcases, and special evening events, including the Friday night remembrance of 9/11 and the Saturday banquet honoring Spain’s influence in the Revolutionary War.
